I would like to separate unreacted sodium azide from the mixture of azide modified amphiphilic PDMS-PEO based copolymers. General route with water is not applicable since amphiphilic copolymer also may be dissolved in water
Use an organic solvent to dissolve the polymer and filter it from the insoluble sodium azide. After that the polymer can be concentrated or precipitated in another solvent.
Alternatively, dialysis in a water using a membranes with a cut off molecular weight less than the molecular weight of the polymer will be perfect. After the dialysis, the polymer can be obtained by lyophilization
