I read that some groups have immobilized cells in calcium alginate, agar particles, etc, and used them in affinity columns to purify some molecules or metals. I would like to do the same, but instead of standardizing it all myself I have been told that there is a company that distributes a kit to immobilize / trap bacterial cells. Does anyone knows the name of this kit or company? Thank you.

We used calibrated glass beads introduced into a chemical glass funnel. A slow flow of bacteria suspension was applied of 3 days. Then bacterai were recovered under gently sonication and directly used to lipopolysaccharides extraction and futur studies.
You must know that microorganisms settle onto any surface in function of their physico chemical surface properties (energetic, viscoelesticity, charges, electron acceptor or donnor...) Then you could use any material to obtain biofilm. It,s only time dependent.
