Hi Frank, the answer is: it depends. Most of the time recovery in halite is very poor, however, I've seen cases of really nice preservation, so I guess you have to give it a try. Eine Einführung in die Palynologie (Gustav Fischer Verlag, Stuttgart, 1975)" on page 143ff and Fig.92 pointing to good pollen preservation in salt from Perm and Trias. A few remarks are also given in "Traverse, A. T. Paleopalynology (Springer, Dordrecht, 2007)".
What I found some years ago in salt bought in the shops from different brands were mostly bits of Pinus and a few other pollen grains, most probably contaminations from storing and drying the brine exposed to the atmosphere. Good luck, Frank
