Hello, all,

when two nanopartilces collide to form one larger particle, presumably there are some heat release (latent enthalpy or due to decrease of surface area) which could lead to temperature increase / annealing of the particle. My questions are how significant the annealing? Are there any experimental evidence that annealing does occurs? Is there any simple way to model the particle growth/annealing process?

If significant, it could lead to, for example, two amorphous nano particle collide to form one big crystalline particle.

Any related comments (with some references) are welcome.
