Does air convergence play a role in snowfall? Can air convergence in low-pressure areas of the earth's surface lead to rising and cooling air and snowfall in a wide area? Is the convergence on the surface of the earth associated with the divergence in the upper levels of the atmosphere?

Of course it does. In frontal zone, and in low pressure, the air is converging. When air converge, it is lifted and when it is lifted it reaches its condensation point and produce clouds and precipitation.
So definitely when air is converging at large scale it produces snow (if T < 0 C).
