Once the Restorative justice was prevalent across the globe, where the main focus of the justice system was the victims. But in 1610s, the retributive justice system was introduced in the criminal justice system and the position of victim was taken away by the state, and the victims were excluded from the justice process. Again in the 1970s the Restorative justice was again set in motion in criminal justice, but this system does not exist in all criminal justices. For ensuring justice to victims, do think this system should be incorporated in the criminal justice again globally?
The development of restorative justice is one of the crucial achievements in the criminal justice system; it preoccupies particular attention theorists and practitioners. The relationship between the restorative and retributive response to criminal activities, with intent preferring a restorative approach as an integral retributive criminal justice. Under the influence of numerous international documents on restorative justice, the countries' individual criminal laws restorative procedures are taking up more and more space, while evident lag of these processes in the vast majority of countries.
There are several attempts, but I don't find it complete yet. Note: Some countries have already applied it, such as Canada, in some cases, and some countries are working to teach it in security universities, such as Saudi Arabia
Of course, because only in this case victims' rights could be strengthened.
Restorative justice's contributions to addressing injustice can certainly be valuable when offenders and victims participate on a voluntary basis. For victims, it can be very significant that there is clear public recognition and transparency that an injustice has been committed against them and in what way. In addition, confrontation with the perpetrator can also help them to come to terms with the suffering they have endured.
A really timely question as there are significant moves towards this in many countries. Restorative Justice approaches are already used in a range of different criminal justice systems across the world, including New Zealand, Canada, the UK and Ireland, Italy... and many more. In some cases, there are formal.and legal mechanism established for this, in others there are less formalised but we'll established approaches, and in others where it is an additional, community led approach used alongside crimit justice systems. We are seeing more and more formalization of this, though, and the EU in particular have been involved in developing policy around the integration and use of RJ for many types of crime, including serious violent crimes (where risk assessments say it is safe).
