Many of today's AIs already know almost everything about humans, including our ways of reacting, acting, and feeling. It could be like a very homely pet that ends up behaving like its masters.
Definitely not!Since human thinking draws conclusions based on logical inferences, and AI draws conclusions based on a "set of precedents", i.e. an analysis of the available database. This is the fundamental difference between human thinking and AI.
Jesus Retto It's highly unlikely that artificial consciousness would emerge spontaneously. Current AIs, no matter how advanced, simulate understanding and emotion without subjective experience or self-awareness. They mimic human behavior through pattern recognition, not conscious thought. While future systems might become more complex, there’s no evidence that complexity alone leads to consciousness.
By learning the nature of consciousness, researchers hope to better understand what's happening within the silicon brains of artificial intelligence. Some believe that AI systems will soon become independently conscious, if they haven't already.
