Recently I have been reading about the role of affect, feelings, and emotions when looking at memory. It has been found that depressed individuals, for example, remember significantly less than those not depressed. Is it simply the happiness of an event that is to be remembered (despite current affect) or is it ones state of being happy (affect) that allows one to remember things? Please feel free to recommend articles or books to read as I certainly would appreciate the opportunity to learn more about this. Thank you in advance!
