ok maybe I asked a question in wrong way, so how can we compare intelligence of animal species, e.g. chinchillas one to another?

Yes, a much better way to pose the question. They have to be tested on a similar task, such as maize or puzzle learning. Dr. Gordon Burghardt, who is a RG member, is an expert on comparing species, from lizards to bears and humans.

Frans de Waal is another expert on the topic.
