I am doing research on Word Blitz (learners are asked to write as many words in the target language [TL] as they can recall in five minutes).

I am curious about how the numbers of answers increase over time, correlate with TL level, age, gender, teaching method etc.  Does doing Word Blitz stimulate speaking in class, de-motivate poor scorers, restrict or expand vocabulary used, etc.?  I am also interested in such things as spelling errors and especially semantic domains.  I have not found any research at all on this.  Does any-one have any suggestions?
