In the Zoological Catalogue of Australia (2002), volume 19.2A, p. 335-336, few data on the distribution are summarized, that I am quoting here:

• Type locality: along shores of Bay of Islands, New Zealand.
• Distribution: Lord Howe Island; New Zealand, Juan Fernadez Ils (Chile), west coast of South America.
• Ecology: supratidal, terrestrial.
