Hi, Milosz! Apart from your case with Eugnomini some other Curculiononae have similar mandibles. Laibale is right. Rhynchitids, especially Rhinchitini, have such mandibular structure to facilitate while boring holes in tissue.

I am really interested in this question. A few monthes ago M.A. Alonso-Zarazaga told me that in his opinion Pachytychius (a genus still incertae sedis) has exodont mandible. What do you think?
