I think online scientific conferences may not become immediately popular, but increasingly necessary. There are more reasons for that than present and future pandemies, as climate consequences of travelling a lot, some universities being poor but can of course have good researchers anyway that need to present papers, and perhaps as a way to modernise and speed up the publication process by providing faster peer-feedback procedures. We will get used to it.
Yes. There are few successful conferences are done online. But, the online conference needs more control over how to publish, present and attend.

I think the Online conferences are become interesting, because its can do the same main objective of the classical conferences (idea exchange, having update on the newest researches etc) without thinking about founding, visas problem etc
