Mental Health medication is only treated for mental illness with chemical component in human body. But do you agreed this is also alleviate the emotional pain level as well? if yes. why? if not - why not?
If the dosage of mental health medication does not prescribe only according to client's physical index calculation but not based on illness response and behaviour , do you think the medication is only suppressed the patient's responsive system gradually. and he/she will not be able to made decision clearly . Or they will also can make better decision if he/she can be calm down the negative emotion per se?
I am just a medical student so take this with a grain of salt, but It is crucial to understand that emotions are intricately connected to our brain chemistry. Mental illnesses can disrupt the normal functioning of neurotransmitters, leading to imbalances that contribute to emotional instability. Psychotropic drugs help restore this balance, allowing individuals to experience a greater sense of emotional well-being and stability.
For instance, antidepressants, a common class of psychotropic drugs, can effectively treat depression by increasing the availability of neurotransmitters like serotonin, which play a significant role in regulating mood. By addressing the neurochemical imbalances associated with depression, these medications can help alleviate symptoms such as sadness, hopelessness, and a general lack of interest or pleasure in activities.
Furthermore, psychotropic drugs can indirectly improve emotional aspects by reducing symptoms that interfere with emotional well-being. When someone is experiencing intense anxiety, for example, it can be challenging for them to fully engage with their emotions or regulate their emotional responses. Anti-anxiety medications can help alleviate excessive anxiety, allowing individuals to regain control over their emotions and engage more effectively in emotional processing.
While psychotropic drugs do not directly target emotions, their impact on neurochemical imbalances can significantly improve emotional well-being. However, it's important to note that psychotropic drugs are often used as part of a comprehensive treatment approach, which may also involve therapy, lifestyle changes, and social support. The combination of these interventions can provide a more holistic approach to addressing mental illness and promoting emotional growth and resilience.
Martin Tarzian thanks for your insightful information. the other part of the microbiome also affects the gut layers toward our limbic system. i appreciate your wonderful engagement here.
The medication only numbs the emotions so that it doesn’t have a negative impact. As far as decision making, patient are far from functional. This is where it is so critical that the psychotherapist gets involved in helping them being functional and assisting them in making appropriate decisions.
The med professor is too too optimistic on the power of medication.
Medication and therapy can only bring them up to somewhere below baseline and not leaving the patients in danger. It can never bring them back into full and complete mental health. unless it is slowly being monitored by the therapist and only if improvements are seen can the medication be slowly tapered off
essentially without therapy , the patient is functioning like a chicken without its head. medication doesn’t even bring the patients to baseline. Far from it. With therapy , patient still has to be carefully monitored
it doesn’t heal the patients and bring them into happiness, far from it .
patient will still be under baseline . 70 % relies on therapy and medication can only do 30% . it’s never 50:50.
Treatment is not equal to healing. Medication (drugs) may serve to prevent an acute and deepening mental health crisis of an individual, but it is no remedy for the underlying emotional chronification of certain moods in the affected individual Ms.Patsy Koay which can be better accessed by spiritual and mental health care professionals.
However, when presenting our approach Al Fermelia of ontological engineering and quantifying mental health at scientific congresses ( e.g. psychiatry),it never earned me to wear the P badge (P=prescription) on my chest, because P=M (money).
Conclusion: it will be still a long way to balance both methods of psycho-medical intervention that you Ms.Patsy Koay mentioned, because M=P.
We as human being remain in quite good environment ,sensitive ,sometimes in disturbing this very basic of quite good human beings create a sensitive feelings in the action of life . It is in this line meditation remains a guiding example for our mental peace offering concentration of our mind also from our within .
When we carry out meditation in our silent environment from a peace creates an healthy atmosphere .Meditation is not a prescription of dr it is the within fro which we have to develop & cultivate . If our mind works in our inner direction within the phase of life one can certainly achieve peace of mind with all the healthy development within us .
yes Rohit Manilal Parikh Mindfulness and meditation is very vital for us to take place for our daily routine. I m glad you have mentioned that at this point. Appreciated.
In my experience as a psychotherapist it is just as you say, Ms.Patsy Koay . Medication is a lesser evil, necessary when you reach a level of disorganization that is too high. It helps to avoid suicides and suffering, it never solves the problem. Slow therapeutic work and the discovery of the fears that paralyze the patient is a necessary requirement for him to want to regain control of his life and bet on her desire.
In my personal experience it does both because improving your mood puts you back in touch with your reiliance and your distress tolerance improves widening you window of tolerance so the emotional pain becomes manageable
Catherine Courtney I totally agreed there should be go with both ways to treat the symptoms of mental illness. and not to Suppressed the emotional level is for better state , but not lack of until the children who said, I can't feel or express.. that is some thing led me to look into further.. thank you.
Miguel Ángel Cañete Lairla thanks for inputing all great highlights to the self harming issue.. Indeed. that is a part of the darkness. i m working with the clients and led them back to the light of Love with holistic therapy.. Appreciated you all here at this space.
Mental illness typically implies various types of pain. Mental illness is also typically multifactorial in etiology, diagnosis and treatment. A holistic approach is usually needed.

the vibration and frequency is all related with the quantum physic. very interesting..
I think it depends on the problem that is being treated. Some medications may not have any affect until they have been taken for a certain amount of time.
Mary C R Wilson indeed. there re alot of anti depressant medication need to be gauged not only by the age , the body weight for the clients. but also the responsive behaviour for decision making process to others. base on some "LIVE " experience , the machoism of resistance to the anti depressant medication does not sustain for emotional function fully. this is more risk than the benefit. thanks.
Mental disorders caused by emotional development cannot be completely cured and treated by mental health medication but symptoms can be suppressed temporarily. According to my experience and experiment, when medicine is stopped, the disorder will develop. Therefore , root cause of emotional development can be avoid through CBT, and also immunity should be developed through functional food and opposite conditions.
Kalyani Ruwanpathirana indeed. i m glad you stop by here for more Supportive statement today. We run in Holistic treatment. CBT. sound healing , Inner child therapy. there are all needed.. thank you!
Drugs often need to be used over a long period for extreme reactions, not benefits, and equally often when adverse affects kick in the patient/client is re-diagnosed and put onto stronger drugs to eliminate the effects of the first drugs.
