Agomelatine is a melatonin receptor agonist (MT1 and MT2 receptors) and serotonin 5-HT2C and 5-HT2B receptor antagonist, which theoretically resynchronizes circadian rhytms of man affecting MT1, MT2 and 5-HT2C receptors of main cerebral pacemaker - nucleus suprachiasmaticus hypothalami. But do we know what exactly agomelatine could do with the circadian rhythms of man? Is this unique type of effect already sufficiently mapped?
