I am doing so tail regeneration experiments on Xenopus laevis and Xenopus tropicalis. I have noticed that their tails always regrow at an angle instead of straight. Is this the norm or could I do something to prevent this?
It is normal but if the angle is very pronounced, try to increase the ammount of water in the tank. Sometimes it happens when they tend to swim laterally due to do not have enough water
I worked in X.laevis tail regeneration at the beginning the tail grow at an angle, later on schould be straight as a normal one, otherwise you should add axygenator in the thank.
