Most hotels and lodging establishments in all developing countries now have some form of computerized reservation systems. This also helps them to get bookings through travel and hotel websites like Hotel.com etc
Yes, the little hotels use computerized systems for reservations and front office. And they can be searched on Google. This little town where I work (Banting) has no traffic jams. This is what I like most. On both sides of the road, I see oil palm estates, with housing areas, schools and govt buildings. The air is really clean most of the time.
Not very much utilizing as they are not familiar with the system until provision of training and installment of specific property management system software to use . But now people are becoming aware so they started using it on small and large scale in both area - urban and rural .
Dear Romer, most lodgings in Greece (even the small and remote ones) use a computer for their reservations and other front office operations and usually have a website. I believe that this practice should be adopted by all the establishments in the accommodation sector no matter where they are located and how small they are.
Not that much. most of the hotels prefer to go the manual way as compared to the computerized reservation. The excuse they always give is software's are expensive.I believe that since the world is becoming a global village with a little education their mindset will change for better.
Small is relative. The term small hotels vary from one region to another. It depends on the services offered. In Kenya, most small hotels and lodges use computerized systems. However we also have budget hotels. which charge guests very low rates. this type may be found in all parts of the country and target the low spend guests. Most of this types use manual systems because all their customers are chance guests.
unfortunately in my country it is still offline reservation system popular. there r good reservation websites that call the receptionist to ask for an empty room. each reservation is done by phone and faxing . getting so much time . hotel owners do not like to give room to every one. they have their own rules .so they prefer to know who will coming then accepting or just telling we have no empty room. and all of them have the sofware to do that, it is expensive but it is a rule to use that software .

Romanian urban space over 90% small hotels use computerized systems, but problem occurs in rural areas where managers are still reticent, however, about 10% use these reservation systems.
In Bulgaria, as we are one of the six countries in the World with the fastest Internet, almost 100% of the small and medium-sized hotels use computerized reservation systems. Another reasons for this are: (I) the relatively cheap price of the software packages produced by Bulgarian software developers; (ii) most of the software package have a built-in module for control over the front office; the kitchen production, orders and expenses; and the storehouse inventories; (iii) the mobile phone operators provide relatively cheap internet access alongside with the traditional Internet providers. In short all the above makes the reservation software package a strong cost saving tool.
However, if we are speaking about guest houses and other para-hotel accommodation facilities, the usage of computerized reservation system is not so often to be found.
