I have a patient who developed a pterygium after lasik and have colleagues also observed this ?
It is not usual to see pterygium after lasik. I did not observe development of pterygium after lasik. It may progress faster if it reaches flap border. Did it reach flap botder in your case?
i have a patient with ptreguim at the limbus and after lasik it progreesed to the flap edge then stopped and iam following it now for 15 month
The above two individuals probably are from areas where there is more sunlight (a major etiological component in the development of Pterygia) even amongst individuals never having had Lasik; therefore, it's best to mask the sun as much as possible in those regions of the world
Today i found a patient who developed a pterygium after lasik , my first observation. it´s elevated and stops abruptly at the flap edge. Scandinavia does not have a lot of sun .
