I am going to check anti-fungal potential of Ethyl acetate, n-hexane and dichloromethane fractions. I don't know do these pure solvents have antifungal potential or not. If anyone know the antifungal potential of these pure solvents (not their respective fractions) then please tell me.
Of course they have. Cell membranes are solved by these organic solvents, and proteins are denatured.
Cell walls are dissolve in the above solvents making the micro organisms to get destroyes.
n-hexane fractions does not have antifungal potential however ethyl acetate & dichloroethane may have some antifungal potential .
Thanks to all.... I also have experienced in my experiment that ehtyl acetate and dichloroethane fractions have antifungal potential.
@CHARLES-KANAKAM & FRANCISCO SOLANO, I want to ask one thing more, pure ethylacetate and dichloromethane solvents are volatile, they become evaporated within 1-2 hours. so, do they still show antifungal (antimicrobial) ptential?
