Do Bacteria not on a surface move aimlessly or follow a track of signals toward the formation of a biofilm?
They do follow a track through Quorum sensing.
So how they continue following this track? Is it the concentration of the signal molecules or something else?
N-Acyl homoserine lactones are a class of signaling molecules involved in bacterial quorum sensing.
I think whenever the concentration of homoserine lactone increased, the bacteria will continue following this increase in concentration until they reach the surface.
