Post-Critical Pedagogy, Post-Critical Philosophy of Education, Post-Critical Research in Education: they all disarm critique in education. They all seek to neuter, weaken, and impoverish our ability to criticise what is wrong in education today. Furthermore, given the link between crisis and critique, they also weaken our ability to understand and critique crises in education. These postcritique trends in education undermine critique just when we need it at a time when education is under attack in the USA and elsewhere. Hopelessness and helplessness are generated by these intellectual trends today.
