While post-critical movements in education claim to move beyond traditional critique, they risk diminishing our analytical capacity precisely when educational systems face unprecedented challenges. As curriculum professionals, we must maintain robust critical frameworks to examine structural inequities, policy failures, and pedagogical shortcomings. Rather than abandoning critique, we need nuanced analytical tools that can address both systemic issues and local contexts. Complete departure from critical analysis may inadvertently serve power structures that benefit from reduced scrutiny, ultimately weakening our profession's ability to advocate for meaningful educational reform and social justice.
