Digitalization saves space and time to some extent. The important part is how to file it and retrieve it when it is needed. Then, digitalization will only be efficient if this is properly done. Very often, we have lots of data but we cannot find what we want and the retrieval is messy if not properly sorted out.

Definitely not. Due to poor web sites and it infrastructure it can become difficult to find and/or access the correct documents at some institutions. Frustrating, infuriating and time consuming.
Digitization should be looked at as investment. It takes time and money to do it. But if done properly making it easy to access, retrieve and search this may be the savior should a global calamity happen destroying paper material.
