I am currently an undergraduate student conducting research on AnMBR system performance. I was not very sure the difference between VSS and TCOD. I found that both VSS and TCOD characterize the amount of microorganism within a wastewater sample; VSS directly shows both dead and alive microorganism while TCOD only illustrates those microbes that can be oxidized chemically. Is my understanding correct?
