Dear everyone,

I have a question about the difference between the charge transfer resistance and activation energy obtained from the electrochemical impedance of the secondary battery.

As described in the paper (J. Phys. Chem. C 2014, 118, 47, 27245–27251, Fig. 3, 4), desolvation (small semicircle A) and ion invasion from the electrolyte to the electrode I learned that the charge transfer resistance and activation energy of each can be calculated from the derived half circle (large half circle B). However, I do not understand the meaning of charge transfer resistance and activation energy respectively.

I thought that the charge transfer resistance evaluated the ease of ion movement by thermodynamics, and the activation energy evaluated the ease of ion movement by kinetics. Is this the correct answer?
