I am looking through some 1D NMR data collected on a Bruker instrument using Topspin (I believe topspin 3), and am curious as to where it is storing certain values.
1. What is the difference between the Proc/Procs and Acqu/Acqus file that is generated in the processed experiment? Is one created at the time of acquisition and another created and updated if I change these in topspin?
2. Where is the SR value stored? I have looked in Proc and Acqu files and have not found where this value changes when I change it in Topspin. Is this value calculated elsewhere?

1.) To my knowledge, the s refers to status - the status files are written when you acquire or process. The other file contains changes you make. E.g. You set TD to 2048 -> it is written in acqu. You acquire, TD 2048 is written to acqus. You change it to 1024 -> it is written to acqu but not to acqus. Within Topspin, you can see the Status parameters by clicking on the S in the ProcPars and AcquPars tab toolbar.
2.) Check for the SF value, it sets the spectrometer frequency and contains anything you add in SR.

Maria is correct. The flle without "s" are the current parameters. These include acqu acqu2, proc and proc2 if you include 2D experiments. These parameter values would be applied if you do an acquisition or processing step. The files with "s" are the status parameters. They reflect the values that were active when the FID or SER files were written to disk. For the processing parameters this is when the 1r/1i or 2rr etc files were last writtem.
The parameter that changes when you change SR is indeed SF. SR reflects the difference between BF1 and SF and is expressed in Hz.
