What are the differences between aims and objectives of the research? in the context of construction management, what could be the best layout of PHD confirmation report?
Firstly, I am recommending the impressive answer of our colleague Dr. Chalamala, thank you doctor for sharing the piece of information.
Secondly, I think that aim is very limited in meaning and concern about specific part of the proposed research in contrast of objectives which covering the whole ideas of the same research.
Assuming you want to go for holidays in Hawaii. We will call that your aim. To achieve that you will need to set a number of objectives viz:
1. Get a visa
2. Buy a plane ticket
3. Book a hotel
4. Got to the airport and sit on the plane,
5. Etc.
The kind of objectives youset in this regard will determine how fast and we'll you achieve your aim.
For example you may decide that one of your objectives will be to get a meal. Well it may keep you alive so you get to Hawaii, but it is not as critical as getting a visa, without which you will fail.
You can set numerous objectives to achieve your aim but for the sake of time and other resources, you need to limit them and focus on the most important ones.
