Hello,

I am trying to analyse data I have on 10 projects...

The table in this image shows the data: http://imgur.com/a/ETPi8

For each project (A-K), I have recorded the duration (in days) of stages in each project. Some projects were not completed as they were abandoned (for example Projects C and G) whereas some projects progressed without completing Stages 1, 2, 4 and/or 5.

I have used an Excel macro to work out the ANOM and draw the chart which can be seen from the above link.

Looking at the ANOM Chart, as far as I can see, the Stages 1, 2, 3 and 6 are the highly problematic since they are above the grand mean (the central line), and Stage 3 is dangerously above the Upper Decision Limit indicating that this stage takes way too long to complete compared with the rest of the project stages.

On the other hand, the Stages 4, 5 and 7 consume relatively shorter time to accomplish, with Stage 7 being extremely quick compared with the rest of the project stages... However, I do not quite understand why the Stage 4 Lower Decision Limit is a negative number?

So, my questions are:

1- Are there any issues with the above analysis?

2- Do you think it is appropriate to use ANOM in this example, and finally,

3- What am I missing from the interpretation of the ANOM Chart, which would be useful for the analysis?

Many thanks!
