I am looking for support or refutation of the theory that high-ranking American politicians intervened in order to influence the conclusions of the United States Strategic Bombing Survey (USSBS) in WWII, in order to create the impression that the strategic bombing in WWII had been more decisive than it was in reality, with the purpose of supporting the arguments for the independence of the Air Force.
