To calculate the toughness of a sample we have to integrate the area under stress strain curve. So the question is what will be the unit of the value of area (toughness) which we obtain after integrating the area under stress-strain curve? As the value of toughness is joule per cubic metre, so how should we convert the value of area to assign it the unit of joule per cubic metre? I have attached an image of the calculation of toughness after integrating the area under stress strain curve, kindly let me know what will be the value and unit of toughness from it.
