ZrB2-SiC composites sintered by HP. I've tried to measure their hardness by vickers indentor using a load of 2 Kg and a dwell time of 30 s (after polishing), but it's not possible and no indentation has been detected. Do you have any idea how to do it?
Many thanks, that's good idea. I had tried to observe the indentations using the lens of the indentor and may be it was too weak to detect.
Mehdi, are you trying to observe the indents using the objective in the indentor equipment?, you could place marks in the surface and after perform analysis(measurements) in a different microscope, one of the options; you can use filters, but is important the surface quality, I means the quality of the polishing.
