Many studies deal in detail with the gas budget, the mathematical determination of the gas potential, the quantification of methane oxidation and the determination of the theoretical methane emission in landfills for municipal waste. In the recent past, there has also been an increase in the number of studies comparing gas stabilization measures (both anaerobic and aerobic; different processes) or setting an initial benchmark. The results of the individual publications naturally show a very high dispersion of the measurement results due to the heterogeneous structure of the respective deposit.
However, especially when determining the gas formation potential and a resulting methane emission by means of the common gas prognosis models, these waste quantities, which are not covered by gas technology, are included.
