I am working with SAR images from Radarsat. I have trouble detecting objects in open fields (cars, or even 2x2m retroreflectors). Sometimes I see them just as a tiny bright pixel, but I would expect such objects to have a bigger footprint (at least more than one pixel, and clearly distinguishable from the background).

If they're really bright, you should be able to change the threshold so you see just the object.
most common test reflectors like trihedrals and tophats will map to a single pixel, even if they are physically bigger than the radar resolution. That's just how they work. Vehicles are composed of multiple scattering centers and might map to more than one pixel depending on radar resolution, but often have dominant scatterers. Weaker scatterers might be below the noise floor in some systems.
