I am not sure I get your question correctly. However, cross polarization is generally addressed at the design stage or during installation of the antenna. A very simple example is that a monopole AE will receive signals along its orientation. If I install it in vertical direction minimum horizontally polarized signals will be received. So during design you should select type of antenna that meets your requirement. Fabrication and other errors will cause some deviations from the ideal behaviour. These are identified during anechoic chamber testing. After which you may choose to go through a design iteration or may address the issue by modifications in installation scheme.
