Well there plenty of ideas for projects which uses geospatial technologies such as GIS to serve real clients. It could be a one related to agriculture such as providing clients (farmers) according to their fields location and climatic data with time table schedule for irrigation. Of course this needs to select a pilot area at first, need survey data by interviewing farmers, fields locations using GPS, Google earth can play a good role here for crop fields, real time climatic data and finally an android application which can be made available for farmers.

GIS is a tool. This is depend on :

1-Your background is it geography? or Geology or Engineering???.

2- Environmental issues in your area

3- Your project budget and materials availability and facility in your University

4- Availability and background of your supervisor team

Ideas you can find thousands, but as your field is Geography. I recommend studies related to the spatial analysis of the behavior of geographical phenomena, such as: mobility of populations, natural hazards, critical routes, market studies, etc.
