Is it necessary to use alcohol in the silane treatment for natural fibres? OR we can just use the distilled water only without mixing with alcohol? Thank you.
Water hydrolyzes APTES. I believe, you shoul use anhydrous solvents.

if ethanol is used in the silane treatment, does the concentration of the ethanol affect the treatment since there are many grades of ethanol solution? eg: 95% ethanol.

If i want to use 5 wt% of silane relative to the fibre weight, what amount of the ethanol-water mixture should I use? eg: fibre weight is 200g, then i have to dissolve 10g of silane into the solution. However, is the amount of the solution important?
