Dear all, I would like to know what is the function of alcohol in the fibre treatment using 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane?

Is it necessary to use alcohol in the silane treatment for natural fibres? OR we can just use the distilled water only without mixing with alcohol? Thank you.
