Dear colleagues,
I am interested on a number of biological questions that I would like to explore using paleoclimatic data and ecological niche modeling. I am familiar with WorldClim data, but I am interested on climatic data for time periods even older that those corresponding to WorldClim data. I am aware that the accuracy of any data from ancient periods "might" be compromised, yet I would like to know what data are available (if any). I am mainly interested on data on temperature and precipitation. I would appreciate any information that you could share with me on this regard.

Check out https://journals.ku.edu/jbi/article/view/4955/4476. The EcoClimate database provides a Pliocene data set, although it is complex to use. Read the paper, which lays out some of the challenges ... not as easy as WorldClim datasets, but probably more appropriately "caveat"ed! ATP
I once saw the EcoClimate website and noticed that they mentioned that dataset; I have not learned more about it, but I definitively will do so now. Thank you, Town!
Hi Eliécer, take care only with the baseline. Since you download and use layers (for any time slice) which were downscaled from a same baseline, that is all right. There are layers in txt and raster (they have the same information, choose the format you are more familiar).
