As a (social science) researcher with German mothertongue, having to wirite scientific English, I have difficultiy to translate the German word "Rausch" into English language.

My feeling is that the words "Intoxication", "inebriety", or "inebriation" don't bear the same conotation, which can be found like e.g. in the German "Siegesrausch"or French "ivresse de la victoire", where a positive evaluation of the affect state - induced by drugs or however - is within the field of meaning. Any comments and/ or suggestions?
