I think that we should not try to make an exact translation of one word "Rausch" from German into any language. In my opinion, it is necessary to give a few characteristic phrases in German with the use of this word, while everyone can translate these phrases into English or their native language (for example using Google Translator) and then from the context can determine the more accurate meaning of this word in their own language, on which one thinkes. And anyway, a good translator from any language never makes a verbatim translation. He first translates the phrase for himself, then tries to find suitable idioms in his native language in order to accurately reproduce the meaning of this phrase. For example, I do not like translations of Chekhov's stories into English, because the nuances were lost, without which the translations lose the flavor of the original language.

As for the Quran, the objection to translating it is not linguistic bur theological. Not that it CANNOT be translated but that it SHOULD not be translated. In fact the Quran has been translated into many languages over the past thousand years. See the article "Quran translations" in Wikipedia.

The asserion that our brains can translate anything that can be expressed is known as the effability principle. It should be taken with a grain of salt, because some things can be translated but not with the same ECONOMY as in the source.

I rely heavily on Linguee to translate :-); however, it seems that most of the translations it provides me as examples are on .de websites, meaning that the translators quite possibly weren't native speakers. Always take any translation there with a grain of salt (same applies to LEO.org). If you find a .com or .org website that definitely originated in a country with English as its native language, those translation examples are significantly better.

Translations are never quite as good as the original, but the meaning, intent, and context can always be expressed in another language, even if it takes a page of commentary to describe one difficult word.
