Certainly, cryptocurrency trading will require high-accuracy hedging strategies because of the huge changes and fluctuations of these currencies that affect the financial position of the investor. Do you think that the International Financial reporting Standards Board(IFRSB) should prepare for the issuance of an accounting standard in this regard?
To have accurate hedging strategies, an must be traded freely on all exchanges. Whereas, the case of cryptocurrency is not simple as like other assets. Because, it is surrounded by many legalities and regulations differently in countries.
Even though cryptocurrency represents the most risker asset, but it doesn't applicable under hedging strategy like others. Meanwhile, it's relayed on many aspects compare to other risky investments.
In my humble opinion, the legalization and organization of cryptocurrencies should take place first, before hedging or any other relevant issues.
IFRSB hasnt even concluded in a method of valuation fro crypto let alone formulate hedging standards. In my humble opinion this is quite difficult if not impossible at least for the short term future...

Valuation of crypto would mean that only dfew woukld sustain legitimate asset pricing techniques. Developing hedges relies on pricing of underlying and pricing of alternatives.
due to fact that Cryptocurrencies are regarded as new topic from an accounting perspective, thus I think there should be a specification in IFRS.
