A correlational research design involves determining the relationship between two variables. It should be noted that data collected in a cross-sectional research can analysed using correlational approaches as long as it involves establishing whether there is a relationship between two variables. Therefore, a correlational approach of data handling may be used in a cross-sectional design, but the reverse is not true!
