After six months of Corona crisis we have gathered more experiences from different countries from their mistakes and successes. We have seen the hardest lockdown of China, Sweden's soft strategy and Vietnam's success too. We have seen the effects of early lifting of lockdown and already observed the crisis of several peaks of first wave or second wave in different countries. More than 150 vaccines are now under trial and some tried for herd immunity without vaccines too.

World war has been started against a tiny virus and we actually failed in the initial stage. There is still chance to control the spread of coronavirus to save lives.

Yes, COVID-19 is the most severe global health emergency the World Health Organization has ever declared simply because the Influenza pandemic of 1918 and plague pandemics that killed much of the world population of that time occurred when WHO did not exist.

It's not question of increasing or decreasing of health crisis, dear Koen Van Waerebeek and it's a statement from WHO. Please read it clearly then it will be easy to reply. WHO thinks COVID-19 is the most severe global health emergency they have ever declared. Nothing about increasing or decreasing here and it has already done damage like a tsunami across the world. In my reply I said crisis not health crisis dear. Pandemic is still roaring and even after the control of pandemic this global crisis will remain for decades after decades according to World Economic Forum.

The idea of herd immunity without vaccination will be another disaster- WHO told it several times. No country yet tried it and even Sweden's soft strategy was not for herd immunity, their idea was just to avoid lockdown by using face mask and maintaining physical distance. Only the basic rules of prevention can protect us before getting ant vaccine and the most of the world may out of vaccine as they can't afford it. It will take time to get the vaccine after completing the trials and much more time will be needed then to make equal access for vaccination.

If you don't believe WHO and CDC then nothing to say here, they are not in favor of herd immunity without vaccine. Herd immunity without vaccine will be a disaster whatever might be the mortality rate. CNN or BBC does not matter, mentioned to show the importance of issues and science is more important than emotion or politics in pandemic control dear Koen Van Waerebeek and we can't the avoid the headlines too.

It's the acute crisis and it's not better to think now for infecting more than 4 billion people globally only for herd immunity. We can not take the load of 20 million infected then 4 or 5 billion infected will be a men-made tsunami of COVID-19. And we have to protect ourselves by following the basic rules of prevention before getting any vaccine or specific treatment.

We have now nearly 17 million infected worldwide (29 July, JHU). I said we can not manage 20 million infected then how can we try for billion for herd immunity. I think I should follow the guidelines of WHO and CDC. Are those organizations not good enough to recommend? Who tells you most of them are asymptomatic? Then why there is no empty bed in hospitals of Florida or why do Peruvians cry for oxygen?

It's a disaster and we can follow the guidelines for disaster management. There are response and recovery phases before mitigation and we are just in response phase of acute crisis and we can not try to take any risk at this moment. Vaccine or herd immunity whatever it is, it will take time and we need to protect us until then.

We have to believe in available data of WHO, CDC, JHU etc. even they are biased according to your opinion. What should we believe then: local or national data? WHO is not in favor of herd immunity without vaccines from the very beginning. I just tried to share their views as I have a little knowledge of epidemiology and statistics and of course Dr Fauci or Mike Ryan are good enough for their posts and many things to learn from them. I also believe that so many under reporting and inadequate testing are there but I can not say anything without available and authentic data. Again I say, herd immunity with or without vaccine is the question and when less immunity or shorter immunity are there then it will be problematic always. Mutation is another added issue and it will take take actually. We have to survive and want to be safe until the herd immunity.

A "crisis" is the feeling it gives when one has to let go a comfortable position or something that has given a sense of security. Covid19 is showing us the total lack of sustainable resilience of our societal systems based on material wealth and economic growth instead of proactive care for human and societal health, environmental synergy and symbiosis. The crisis is not just an illness with potential mortality rates and impact on (intensive) care systems. The crisis is the gigantic need (with all the related transformative stress) for undergoing a metamorphoses of our societal structures, human lifestyle and participation in change, economic definitions and institutional positioning in a totally new leadership context based on universal health and core natural values. Covid19 is just a catalyst for awareness, the true crisis is existential, much deeper and higher impact than dealing with a virus.

July was started with nearly 10.6 M total cases and around 7 million cases increased in a month to make it nearly17.5 million global cases at the end of July, 2020. USA is the epicenter and Latin America and India is other hot spots. Brazil and Mexico are tired to find out anymore larger graveyard. Peruvians are crying for oxygen. Indians don't find anymore empty bed in hospitals. Although Europe was considered as safe zone in July but unluckily the new outbreaks in Spain, Germany, Belgium are alarming. New outbreaks in Australia, Hong Kong, Japan and China are almost similar to second waves of cases. Cases in Africa are rising gradually and South Africa has lost its control with huge number of COVID-19 patients.
