Mohannad Suleiman This is an exciting and rapidly developing field. At the start you can look into different islanding detection methods discussed in the literature so far such as active, passive and hybrid techniques. Each technique uses different paramters for the detection purpose.
As an instance, passive islanding detection method uses over/under voltage and frequency, ROCOF, ROCOP, voltage unbalance and phase jump.
Active islanding detection techniques use SFS, AFD, APS, AFDPF, SVS, SMFS, NSC, and RPI.
Hybrid techniques use mixed information. Each tecnique has different application. Further, the response to the islanding is also a tropic area of interest.
