I am conducting a long term collaborative research project on teacher attrition.  Some research has been done on the average amount of time typical teachers last in the classroom in public education in the US.  However, in recent years, the increase in federal and state initiatives, regulations and negative media attention may be impacting the teacher's work in many ways.  I am interested in finding more literature on teacher's attitudes and beliefs about their work, job satisfaction, self-efficacy and perceived impact in the classroom.  I am particularly interested in interview teachers who decided to leave the public school classroom for another career.
