It may be said that face-to-face teaching is the best method for EFL/ESL or foreign language learning. Do you believe that the Cloud concept is changing the future for face-to-face teaching and learning?
Not an easy question to answer since the best method for whom should be defined first. Actually, due to lots of depended variables, it is not easy in learning and teaching to say that there is a best method for all learners. However, most probably we will change methods utilized in F2F (face to face) teaching and learning according to learners need.
It supposed to add alternatif teaching and learning method.Example collaborative learning and conceptual understanding of a lesson. By using google cloud doc you can ask students collaborate in solving a story problem in different places and time, by using google drive adds on like mindup and mindmaster teacher can give an idea and students developed the idea by making sub idea inserting video, link by their own understanding. It can apply for lower level gr 3 primary until university for linguistiv to science from my experience.
For changing face to face it goes to the culture and infrastructure in every country. There are country with dominance on face to culture and bad infrastructure especially internet connection.
Teaching via the cloud model could be an effective method for students who are fast learners, personally motivated to learn and are committed to the learning process. This also applies to teachers as well.
The cloud method in teaching languages could be very challenging since students learn language faster by speaking and engaging with others as well as they learn how to write and read. This is where videoconferencing comes in; however, that too could have it's own disadvantages. I would recommend students who have solid fundamental knowledge of the basic mechanics of the targeted language to use this approach, while those with limited fundamental grasp of the language making use of the traditional approach until they are confident enough. But yes, it is possible because technology and information sharing are rapidly changing and transforming the way we teach, learn, and exchange information and ideas and the traditional classroom teaching-learning process is not exclusive from being impacted positively.
