Now I want to know what is the reaction progress from Li7Ti5O12(black blue) to Li4Ti5O12(white) in air? Where is the excess Li ions?Does Li2O form in the progress?
Please be sure about balancing the charges in compound like Li7Ti5O12. In my opinion Li4Ti5O12 have well balanced charges, if we assume that all the Ti present is in tetravalent state. But In Li7Ti5O12 at least three of Ti has to be present in the trivalent state to balance the charge. As you are using O2 environment for heating, it is expected that all the Ti are in tetravalent state. Therefore, when you heat your precursors you will get Li4Ti5O12 as a main product, while unreacted/excess of lithium will be evaporated (very common). In my opinion your precursor might be 7:5 Li:Ti ratio and extra content of Li or Na is purposefully chosen just to compensate the loss due to volatilization. Extra Li is evaporated during course of reaction......... Good Luck..
