I would like to investigate the feeding behavior of a nocturnal fish, therefore I am looking for an IR camera to be able to record videos at night. I’m really looking to find out what you’d recommend about an efficient and not expensive ( 100-250 Euro) IR camera.
I don't think that IR camera is suitable choice for this purpose, because it cant detect cold-blooded animals under water.
@ Saed I don`t want to record under water. Actually I will record the feeding behavior of fish in captivity, that means the camera will be outside the tank.
I should correct my comment to say " it cant detect under-water cold-blooded animals."
Saed is confusing two very diffferent applications of infra red. Photographing fish in an aquarium using light that the fish cannot see is possible and not very difficult. To do this one uses the near infrared reflected light, just outside the visible region, between say 700 and 1100 Nm. Thermal recording, which will record body heat and hotter objects (so in fact cold-blooded fish are a problem) is a completely different procedure and uses infrared emission in the 3000 to 9000 Nm region.
