You can predict land use by using the LCM model through prediction methods in Terr Set software.

Also, can anyone help will a link to a good raster for current land-use/land-cover for Africa?

Raster files of global land use scenarios for the year 2050 can be found at www.environmentalgeography.nl. These were generated by peter verburg and colleagues who have published in this field.

Hlelowenkosi - for a land use layer of Africa this can be downloaded from Sedac-NASA under the title Anthropogenic biomes of the world
