I am trying to get a sense of how long I should run the LICOR after glucose addition to get a good estimate of CO2 flux. These are dry alpine soils with low OM.
If your Li-cor 8100A has no multiplexer LI8150 and flask sampling kit, but has 20 cm diameter survey chamber, you could do it manually by incubating approximately 100 g of soil in 200 ml plastic cups. A lot of work.
Hi everyone thanks for the responses. I was wondering about how long each single measurement should be run for. I ended up running my soils on the Licor continuously for 40 minutes which was long enough to get my flux values to stabilize. This is somewhat long and some incubations took only a few minutes to stabilize but some took longer so I gave ample extra time.
