U can take a Medium length Wide Mouthed Column for this kind of sample ,again the length of silica bed depends on the compound u want exactly (desired one) identified by TLC.
I agree with steward, what is the level of purity for your compound, but this will also depend on your solvent system not just the amount of silica gel... perhaps editing your question will help unless you are looking for a proportion mass to a silica gel column...?
Thank you so much all of you,,,,,there are two spots and Rf is 0.5 and 0.3 in pet.ether:EtOAc (5:1). Actually this is mono and di formylated carbazole.
Amount of silica depends on other components present. For an easy separation I recommend a ratio of 1:50, i.e. 300 g silica in a column of 2-3 cm diameter. For a difficult separation the ratio is 1:100, i.e. 600 g silica.
