I’ve got an abnormal form of isotherm for a mesoporous material which exhibits 3 separated hysteresis loops (please find attached). Could anyone explain the reason for this shape?
Prakruthi: Trimodal means that there are three different distributions of pore sizes. I don't know why this material shows this, but having three distinct hysteresis loops suggests that there could be three distinct pore sizes represented in the material.
I am not sure that I am right, but a question. Just different distributions of pore sizes can be cause for 3 separated hysteresis. Is it possible the cause is in surface non uniformity with different constants of adsorbent-adsorbate interection in BET equation?
